Project Description
Highly Cultured is an interdepartmental collaboration between the Studio Art and Biology Programs at Merrimack College, in which student artists and scientists worked alongside each other to create an exhibition of petri-dish based artworks using different bacteria samples.
Through a series of collaborative workshops led by biology and studio art faculty, participating students investigated the beauty of collaborating with nature, material as metaphor, and ephemerality, as well as the intrinsic connection between the arts and sciences.
